The tradition continues, you too can help make Christmas special for those in need. Hampers in Centretown Ottawa are a GO!
We are excited to announce the Christmas Hamper Project will continue again this year! Please consider giving in any way you are able.
Important Dates
Adopter Hamper drop-off at Centretown United Church – between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm on Tuesday, 19 December, 2023
Volunteer drivers distribute hampers to those in need – Thursday, 21 December, 2023
Volunteer Drivers
You will be advised your window of time to be at the church to pick up the hampers on Thursday, 21 December.
This year, the drivers will enter the church through the door into the rear Chapel (proceed up the ramp along the back side of the parking lot).
Please turn right into the laneway under the apartment building beside the church on Argyle Street 30 metres from Bank Street to access the church parking lot (Argyle is one way from Bank Street to O'Connor).
There will be a registration station inside and the volunteer drivers will proceed out the other door into the parking lot where they will wait and their hampers will be brought out to them.
Regretfully we will not be able to supply volunteers this year to help carry hampers at the delivery location.
Please wear a mask and respect social distancing.
Please be patient! We are all doing the best we can and, the precautions we are taking are in all our best interests.
When you drop off your hamper you are not to enter the premises of the recipient. Please respect social distancing protocols.
Or, have a crazy schedule? We gladly accept donations! Please send a cheque made out to "Centretown United Church", 507 Bank Street, Ottawa, K2P 1Z5 indicating it is for the "Christmas Hampers Project". You can also donate online by hitting the "Donate Now" button and selecting the "Christmas Hampers Project" in the drop-down menu.
Thank you for your support!
(If donations are so generous that we receive additional funds, they will be shared with the Centretown Emergency Food Centre and Centre 507 to assist recipients, who struggle to make ends meet throughout the entire year.)
